Who's Your Daddy's-daddy's-daddy's-daddy's-daddy?

Because it was the Year of the Temple in my stake last year, I knew that as the Temple and Family History Center Director, it was my responsibility to put together something cool on the stake level to promote the inspired theme. We spent the first part of the year visiting all the ward councils in the stake to ask them about their plans and help them formulate ideas. Originally, we'd planned to organize quarterly activities as a stake committee to support the wards in their efforts, but that didn't turn out super well because the stake organization was too loose. I admit, I felt at fault for that as much as anyone, because doubtless if I had made a really proactive push on it, we could have accomplished more. Still, from my experience, I've found that a stake organization is rather like a large, slow-turning ship. It takes a long time to get things done because there are so many people involved.

Pacific Northwest Summer Travels

It would be a shame to skip last year's family reunion, since it's always one of the highlights of my year, so I will do my best to give some kind of recounting of it.

Fourth of July on Mahogany Mountain

I'm going to attempt to document a few more things that happened last year in order to get myself fully caught up. We'll see how many I actually get to. I'll probably just try to briefly touch on some items.
